A New Season

Just back from a fleeting visit to Torridon, this morning the lakes looks pretty good, I haven't been up the fell yet but freezing levels have been low enough for turf to be frozen so its probably worth a walk out. Bowfell buttress looks in condition this morning, there is also a chance that Gable will be hoared, if not some of the easier routes there will be in condition.

Climbed a new route on Beinn Eighe yesterday with Viv Scott, conditions were perfect. There was snow down to the valley and a surprising amount of ice forming around the place. W facing crags had the most hoar on them.

Pavey doesn't have any snow on it and it has been warmer than forcast today. Pavey very rarely comes into good nick for mixed routes

Realised that when it got warmer in the day. Went to Bowfell last Weds night, wasn't frozen in the turf. Left at 3.10 am, when we walked past Cambridge all the turf was frzen solid. Sods Law, had lost motivation by then...
